Location and Hours

Located approximately 9 miles south of the UW’s Seattle campus, the Othello-UW Commons is next to the Othello Link light rail station. This accessible 2,200-square-foot facility includes room for meetings, teaching, learning, leadership and community and professional development.

We are not open for regular business hours at this time. If you are interested in using the space, please fill out the applicable request form (campus or community partner).

Spring 2023 study hours are in Wednesdays from 4:30PM to 8:30PM. Please show your student ID at the door.

Public transit

We highly encourage visitors to use Link light rail. The Othello-UW Commons is located across from Othello Station.

The Via to Transit pick-up/drop-off spot servicing Othello Station is across the cul-de-sac from the Commons.

Parking

Limited parking is available in the cul-de-sac (from Martin Luther King Jr. Way S., turn onto S. Myrtle St., which turns into 42nd Ave. S.). Paid street parking is available on 43rd Ave. S, and free parking is available on S. Othello St. on both sides of Martin Luther King Jr. Way S. We strongly recommend that visitors use the Link Light Rail or other forms of public transportation.

Accessibility

The Othello-UW Commons is located on the street level with no entrance steps. Our bathrooms are wheelchair accessible and are located in the lobby of the Assembly 118 apartments that we share the ground floor with. There are no stairs to the restroom. Two of our three event spaces, studios A and B, are on the ground floor. Our conference room is located on our mezzanine, up a flight of eighteen stairs, and is accessible by using an elevator in the lobby of Assembly 118. All parking is street parking, and currently there are no designated disabled parking spaces.
