Location and Hours

Located approximately 9 miles south of the UW’s Seattle campus, the Othello-UW Commons is next to the Othello Link light rail station. This accessible 2,200-square-foot facility includes room for meetings, teaching, learning, leadership and community and professional development.

Winter 2024 Study Hours open to UW students are on Thursdays from 9:00AM to 8:00PM.

Winter 2024 Co-Working Hours is open to anyone in the community, and anyone affiliated with UW. The hours are on Thursdays from 9:00AM to 8:00PM. Please make sure to sign in at the front desk.

The entrance to Othello-UW Commons is located on the west/MLK Jr Way S. side of the building, north of the doors to the Assembly 118 apartments. The entrance is right across from the Metro Flex/VIA stop within the cul-de-sac.



Public transit

We highly encourage visitors to use Link light rail. The Othello-UW Commons is located across from Othello Station.

The Metro Flex/Via pick-up/drop-off spot servicing Othello Station is across the cul-de-sac from the Commons.


Limited parking is available in the cul-de-sac (from Martin Luther King Jr. Way S., turn onto S. Myrtle St., which turns into 42nd Ave. S. / turn into the Chase parking lot until you see a church). Street parking is available on 43rd Ave. S, and free parking is available on S. Othello St. on both sides of Martin Luther King Jr. Way S. We strongly recommend that visitors use the Link Light Rail or other forms of public transportation.


The Othello-UW Commons is located on the street level with no entrance steps. Our bathrooms are wheelchair accessible and are located in the lobby of the Assembly 118 apartments that we share the ground floor with. There are no stairs to the restroom. One of the bathrooms are for females and the other is an all-gender single room.

Two of our three event spaces, studios A and B, are on the ground floor. Our conference room is located on our mezzanine, up a flight of eighteen stairs, and is accessible by using an elevator in the lobby of Assembly 118. All parking is street parking, and currently there are no designated disabled parking spaces.
