Host your event at the Othello-UW Commons! Rooms may be reserved by UW-affiliated organizations and community partners.
*We are no longer booking for September - December 2024. We may be able to accommodate your request if you have already completed an informational meeting with us, please email us.
We are now booking for January - June 2025 and will prioritize regular programming & youth programming.
How to Reserve
- Book with Aysah Jacob, the Program Coordinator for a informational 20-minute meeting.
- After the interview, fill out a form with all the logisitic details of your event and a user agreement form that needs to be signed and emailed back to us.
- Recieve a confirmation email afterwards.
After this 3-step process, for future reservations just send us an email with your requested date and time!
*If you are a first time user, please plan to contact us at least 1 month in advance of your requested date, otherwise we may not be able to accommodate your request.

Timeline

For UW Students
Study Hours/Co-Working Hours for students for Autumn 2024 are every Wednesday & Thursday from 9:00AM to 5:00PM.
If you can't make it to Study Hours, don't worry! Feel free to reach out via email, phone, or IG about coming in if you just need a space to study or take your online class! Our hours and staffing vary depending on the reservations, but we're happy to have you if we're on site!

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
The space is totally free to use! We ask that the partners meet with the staff for an informational meeting prior to reserving.
We currently do not have a public calendar, for questions regarding availability please email us.
With just chairs, 50 people can fit into the space. With tables in chair, in a classroom style up to 42 people can fit. Standing with NO chairs and tables 80 people can fit into the space.
We recommend that you reserve at least a month in advance for a higher probability of getting the exact date & time requested. Reservations for quarter long courses (or longer) are recommended to book far in advance, at minimum 3 months.
We have a Zoom Owl, please let the staff on site that you would like to use it.
We have a projector in every room and will have cords to connect your electronic device (adapters included for Apple Users).
Alcohol and consumption of alcohol is not permitted inside the Commons.
We do not have a preferred caterer vendor, but we can provide suggestions for local vendors in the neighborhood!
The interview will give us time to get to know you and your work with your organization/school but will also give you some more insight into what the Commons is! We hope this interview will be a catalyst to a growing relationship between the two of us!
Yes, you can take payments as long as it does not go through the University of Washington.
