Rooms may be reserved by UW-affiliated organizations and community partners.
Reservations for WTR26 and SPR26 are OPEN!
We are now booking for January - June 2026 and will prioritize regular programming & youth programming. If you have already completed an informational meeting with us, please email us directly to inquire about space availability.

How to Reserve (for new partners):
- Book a 20-minute informational meeting for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.
- After the interview, submit the reservation request form with the logisitical details of your event. Complete, sign and submit the user agreement form via email.
- Review the details of your confirmation email.
Once you've completed the info meeting, for future reservations, simply email us with your requested date and time!
*If you are a first time user, please reach out at least a month in advance of your requested date. Otherise, we may not be able to accommodate your request.

Study/Co-Working Hours
UPDATE: We no longer host weekly study/co-working hours. Our operating hours and staffing vary from week to week, depending on the reservation schedule. However, if we are on site and the space is available, we would love to have you! Reach out in advance via phone (206-685-3023) or email (othellocommons@uw.edu) to see if we will be open.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
The space is free! We do not charge community and campus partners to use the space. We ask that partners meet with an Othello staff member for an informational meeting prior to making a reservation.
We currently do not have a public calendar. For questions regarding availability, please email us at othellocommons@uw.edu.
With tables and chairs setup in a classroom style, the downstairs studio spaces accommodate up to 42 people. With only chairs setup (no tables), 50 people can fit into the space. With n ochairs and no tables, standing room only, 80 people can fit into the space.
We recommend that you reserve at least a month in advance for a higher probability of getting the exact date & time requested. For recurring reservations or quarter-long courses, we recommend booking at least three months in advance.
We have a Meeting Owl, a 360-degree camera, mic, and speaker device, available for guest use. Please let the on-site staff know if you would like to use the owl.
We have a projector and speakers in every room. We have the cords and adapters necessary to easily connect your electronic device.
No, alcohol is not permitted inside the Commons.
We do not have a preferred caterer vendor, but we can provide suggestions for local vendors in the neighborhood!
These informational meetings are meant to serve as a catalyst for collaboration, share resources and deeper partnership opportunities. This process is required for us to learn more about you, your organization/school and your work, as well as for us to share more insight about the Commons and our work.
Yes, you can take payments as long as it does not go through the University of Washington.
