Spring CELEbration Internship

The Spring CELEbration Intern will support the planning and execution of the 2025 Spring CELEbration event which will take place on May 7th at the HUB. At this event CELE Center program participants, NextGen scholars & Mary Gates Endowment students exhibit presentations of learning and reflection to fellow classmates, community members, mentors, friends and family. Student presentations focus on students' community-engagement and leadership experiences. There were approximately 180 student presenters among 4 different presentation formats at the 2024 event. 

Hours:  10 hours / week, schedule is flexible.

Internship Term: January 2025 – June 2025  (Start Date: January 20, 2025) 

 

Spring CELEbration Intern Job Description & Duties:   

The intern will serve as a member of the CELE Center Spring Celebration planning team, supporting in planning and logistics for the department-wide, end-of-year presentations of learning event in May 2025. This role will focus on projects such as: event advertisement and promotion, social media, presenter registration support, webpage maintenance, communications/marketing, committee support, presenter prep sessions, support event setup and clean up. The intern will have an opportunity to collaborate with CELE staff on other projects and activities depending on experience and interests.  

This role will be primarily remote during Winter Quarter with more in-person work required in the MGH 171 EXPD suite during Spring quarter.

  • Must be a current UW student – undergraduates or graduate students 
  • Experience with event planning and execution 
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail 
  • Ability to work independently while upholding strong communication with team members in a hybrid work environment  
  • Self-motivated to solve issues as they arise   
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Familiarity with the University of Washington Seattle campus and various resources for event support 
  • Availability to meet with supervisor weekly for 45-60 minutes
  • Availability and capacity to support the Spring CELEbration event on Thursday May 7, 2025 at the HUB from 12:00-8:00pm.   
  • Experience with CELE Center, NextGen and/or MGE programs 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite, including SharePoint, Forms, and Excel 
  • Experience with Canva 

Educational Benefits:  This event coordination internship will give the student an opportunity to work (and learn) within university systems and processes, learn program/event management and skills, and engage with various tools and apps to manage logistics. The intern will gain skills related to effective communication, registration management, volunteer management, student support, and day-of event logistics.  

Hours:  10 hours/week, schedule is flexible.

Internship Term: January 2025 – June 2025  (Start Date: January 20, 2025) 

Pay: $20.76 per hour
