Register for LEAD 298: Dialogue, Disagreement, and Democracy in the Fall 

In a year marked by significant global and local challenges, the 2024: Dialogue, Disagreement, and Democracy course offers students a chance to navigate the complex terrain of conflict, democracy, and dialogue!

Led by Professor Ed Taylor, this one-credit, online, asynchronous course open to all undergraduate students will guide students through critical conversations about issues like misinformation, disinformation, democracy, and belonging. Through weekly videos and discussions with scholars, community members, and those with differing perspectives, students will learn how to engage in productive conversations even when disagreements arise. This course is an opportunity to deepen your understanding of democracy and develop the skills necessary for thoughtful, respectful dialogue in today’s polarized world.

Register for GEN ST 391: Leadership Firesides in the Winter

The Leadership Firesides course provides students with the opportunity to engage with civic, corporate, and campus leaders who share their personal leadership journeys and insights!

This 1-credit course allows students to expand their understanding of leadership across a variety of disciplines and sectors. Through weekly sessions, students will listen to inspiring stories, participate in discussions, and reflect on the leadership lessons presented. The course helps students develop their own leadership competence and confidence while providing a unique chance to meet and engage with guest speakers in an informal setting. Weekly reflection assignments and a final paper encourage students to apply these insights to their own leadership experiences.

Register for Unify America's College Bowl & Deep Dive

A unique virtual event that pairs thousands of college students from across the country for one-on-one conversations about some of the most pressing issues of our time!

Whether you're a student from a community college in Texas, a private university in New York, or a public university in Washington, this intercollegiate challenge connects people from different perspectives to discuss hot-button topics like mental health, gun laws, immigration, and free speech. In these respectful, hour-long conversations, students find common ground and learn how to engage in civil dialogue without conflict. Building on this, the Deep Dive program offers students a chance to focus on a single civic topic in greater detail, honing critical skills through in-depth, one-on-one conversations. Both programs are designed to increase student interest in civic participation and help foster a more engaged and understanding society.
